Painted in 2021

Part of the original Quên – Forget Tarot De Gap collection by Duy Khanh Vo.

Page of Wands in Quy Nhon portrays a young traveler standing at the edge of a new chapter. Surrounded by the golden sand dunes and coastal landscapes of central Vietnam, he gazes toward an unseen horizon, carrying little more than curiosity, hope, and an eagerness to discover what lies beyond the familiar.

Created during the development of Quên – Forget Tarot De Gap, this artwork reflects the excitement of encountering new places and new ideas. Quy Nhon, with its vast stretches of sand meeting the sea, becomes a symbol of possibility—a place where old stories fade into the distance and unexplored paths begin to emerge.

Inspired by the archetype of the Page of Wands, the painting celebrates adventure, learning, and the courage to step into the unknown. The figure is not searching for answers already known to him. Instead, he is drawn toward new experiences, new perspectives, and the wisdom that can only be gained through direct encounter with the world.

Like many works within Quên, this piece explores the relationship between memory and transformation. Every journey asks us to leave something behind. Every new landscape changes us in ways we may not immediately understand. The sand dunes of Quy Nhon become a metaphor for this process—constantly reshaped by wind and time, yet always remaining themselves.

This artwork is a tribute to those who continue seeking, questioning, and learning. It reminds us that growth often begins with a single step toward a horizon we cannot yet fully see.

About Quên – Forget Tarot De Gap

Quên – Forget Tarot De Gap is an award-winning tarot project created by Vietnamese artist Duy Khanh Vo.

Winner of the CARTA Awards for Best Tarot Deck and Best Self-Published Tarot Deck, Quên follows the traditional Rider–Waite–Smith tarot system while weaving together personal memories, journeys across Asia, and reflections on healing, loss, and self-discovery.

More than a story about forgetting, Quên explores the meaning behind letting go. Through experiences gathered across Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, China, and unnamed places of memory, each artwork becomes an invitation to understand ourselves more deeply and embrace the beauty found within change.
