Part of the original See You Tomorrow collection by Duy Khanh Vo.
Five of Cups portrays a quiet moment of disappointment. The figure stands alone, surrounded not by dramatic tragedy, but by the lingering weight of self-doubt, regret, and unspoken sadness. It is the kind of silence that arrives after expectations have fallen apart—the moment when there is no one left to blame except ourselves.
Created as part of the See You Tomorrow series, this painting explores the emotional landscape of personal failure and vulnerability. There are times in life when we become trapped by feelings of inadequacy, replaying mistakes and imagining the versions of ourselves we wish we could have been. The world continues to move forward, yet internally we remain frozen, listening to the echoes of our own disappointment.
Inspired by the spirit of the Five of Cups, the artwork reflects grief, self-reflection, and emotional resilience. While the card is often associated with loss, it also contains an important reminder: not everything has been lost. Even when hope feels distant, there are still reasons to continue. There are still paths waiting to be discovered beyond the sorrow.
Within the world of See You Tomorrow, this painting represents one of the many emotional fragments hidden within Bao Khanh's memories. It is a chapter marked by shame and discouragement, but not by surrender. Beneath the silence remains a quiet determination—a willingness to keep moving forward despite the weight being carried.
The stillness of the painting is therefore not the stillness of defeat. It is the stillness of endurance. A pause between falling and standing again.
This artwork is a tribute to those who have faced disappointment, carried feelings of inadequacy, and questioned their own worth, yet chose to continue anyway. It reminds us that resilience is not always loud. Sometimes it appears as the simple decision to take another step forward.

About See You Tomorrow
"See You Tomorrow" is a story of healing, memory, and self-discovery.
The narrative follows Thanh, a young woman determined to uncover the truth behind a traumatic event that shattered the life of her older sister, Bao Khanh.
Once a talented and promising artist, Bao Khanh falls into severe psychological distress after her solo exhibition, Four PM. The experience leaves her struggling with memory loss and deep depression. Seeking answers, Thanh turns to the paintings created for the exhibition.
Through these artworks, she gradually uncovers fragments of forgotten stories, hidden emotions, and long-buried memories. Each painting becomes a doorway into Bao Khanh’s inner world, revealing clues that help piece together the mystery of her trauma and illuminate a path toward healing.
The See You Tomorrow Tarot was born from this fictional universe, where every card serves as both a symbolic tarot archetype and a fragment of a larger story.
